This piece was created from the empathetic and compassionate mind of the artist, as both a teacher, and a mentor of African-American children. The painting focuses on the harsh realities of living as a black male in America and what that encompasses. The American flag is interwoven between African flags of  African countries where African ancestors were taken from to be sold into slavery. The  African-American boys in the painting, represent innocence, and compassion for the voice of truth, freedom and peace.
